How to Claim Your Listing

To edit or update a business listing you must be the listing owner.

If you own or work at a business that is listed on OCtop10.com and have not claimed your listing please do so to edit the listing, add pictures, specials or features. 

IMPORTANT PLEASE READ STEPS and VERIFICATION PROCESS below...

CLICK HERE TO CLAIM YOUR LISTING

  • Enter your user information
  • Select "Claim Listing" from the Category drop down
  • Enter information in the "Description" box that proves you own the business.
  • Click Save
Verification: 
To verify that you are an actual employee or owner of a business, an OCtop10.com representative will call the business telephone number listed to verify your employment and or approval of the change.
In some cases if the email address you list in the "Claim Your Listing" request ends in the same domain as the company listed a telephone call may not be necessary.

How do I get my business reviewed by OCtop10?

Contact Us Click "Contact Us" and select "Get Reviewed" as the category.

We would love to review establishment!

It's our opinion that locals know best and users of OCtop10 want local knowledge. We're glad you agree!
While our opinions are just that, we've traveled and indulged in the best life has to offer enough to know whats good, great and or seriously fabulous!

So here's how it works:

 

  • Food Establishments:  Select your top five dishes that you are best known for and believe stand out amongst all others.  We'd like you to suggest the agenda and menu giving you the opportunity to let us experience the event as you envisioned. This may include complimenting drinks, wine pairings, appetizers, salads, the main courses and deserts. The dining group will typically be for four people. We will each be tasting each dish but it will not be necessary to split the entrees as we also will be taking photographs of the dishes. While we do not charge for our reviews the meal and drinks will be complementary not including tip.  
  • Bars and Night Life:  Select your top drinks, wine flights, pairings, entrees, appetizers and or activities that you are best known for and make you stand out from the pack.  Service will be for 4 persons, and is complimentary, not including tips.
  • Theater and Performing Arts: TBD
  • Accommodations:  We will stay at your establishment for 1 night, in your best available room for two persons.  We may try room service, and any services (spa, gym, etc.) you provide.  The stay is complimentary (including parking) along with the room service and any other services that we agree upon prior to check in. 

    Our review will cover location, style, comfort, service, and amenities both at your establishment and in the surrounding area.

  • Spas:  We will require your best package, requiring no more than 3 hours for two people.  Choose a package that you want others to know about. This can be men’s or women’s packages.  The package is complementary not including tip. Our review will cover location, style, comfort, knowledge of procedures and actual performance, along with other procedures deemed appropriate for different tastes.

  • Golf:  TBD

  • Attractions: TBD

Scheduling: We wish we could review every business, however time will of course not allow that of course. So please suggest the best dates and times for you and we will do our best to make those work or make additional suggestions.

How to Cancel Your Directory Listing

Cancelling your Directory or Featured Listing is simple!

 Just click "Support", create a new "Help Desk Ticket" and Select "Cancel" as the category.

  1. Please put "Cancel Listing" in the Title of the new Help Desk Ticket
  2. Please enter the name of the business, your name and contact information (phone number and email address)
  3. Please also list the reason that you would like to cancel the account
Please be aware that no refunds will be made for currently running listings and that cancellation requests must be made online at least 15 days prior to any subscription renewal. (Cancellation requests made in writing must be made 30 days prior to subscription renewals)

Editorial Guidelines

What makes for a great review?

OCtop10 reviews are useful, funny and cool because people like you take the time to share thoughtful insights on local businesses and services. The best reviews are personal and tend to offer helpful suggestions, perhaps even an insider tip or two. The most useful reviews sometimes make mention of unique qualities that make the business special or the type of person who might also like this business. Note, parking, location, atmosphere along with your overall experience and whether you will return.

Star Ratings

1= Worst, 2 = Below Average, 3= Average, 4=Above Average, 5 =Excellent
Each review accompanies a 1-5 star rating in which you will be required to rate on that specific criteria. Keep in mind that 3 stars means average, and 5 stars is perfection. In our opinion, 5 stars in any category should be very difficult to attain. Keep it real, and remember that your rating may influence others.

If I had a bad experience, can I say something negative?

Sure. We want to hear about your good experiences and your bad ones. Be sure to include all the relevant facts and details. However, whether it is a positive review or a negative one, please keep in mind that your opinions are generally protected but posting false information can have legal ramifications.

Offensive Language or Behavior:

OCtop10 does not tolerate profanity, hateful or lewd language in reviews. We encourage visitors to report any reviews that they find offensive by clicking on the "Report This Review" link on any listing. Reviews are also not the place for rants about a business's employment practices, political ideologies, or other matters that do not address your experience as a customer with the business listed.
When we are made aware of users engaging in these behaviors, we have no choice but to consider taking action including possible suspension of the offending Users account. So please, let's all keep reviews civil and enjoy this open forum for local discussion.

How do I update the Google map icon position

  • Click Here to Open a Support Ticket
  • Create a new Trouble Ticket under the "Support" category requesting us to update your map icon position. We will need specific references from you to be able to do this of course. Visual are best if at all possible. Another method is to send us the link from another mapping service that has your location in the correct position.
